Super Bowl Trailer Predictions

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more reviews and interviews.

It’s that time of year again again when the NFL is coming to an end for another season. The Super Bowl is this Sunday (3rd Feb) and if you decide to stay up all night, you’ll not only see, hopefully, a great game, but you’ll see the trailers that companies pay the big bucks for. In this article I look at the potential trailers we will get and how likely it is.

Mission Impossible 6 – Fallout

We got confirmation of the name of the new Mission Impossible this week via Tom Cruise’s Instagram account. We also got confirmation that we will be getting a first trailer during the Super Bowl. As a big fan of the Mission Impossible series, I’m eagerly waiting to see if the series still has it’s legs and I think it will. If you’re not a fan of the series, it’s a good chance to see Henry Cavill’s infamous mustache and see what the fuss was all about, it better be great.

Possibility – Confirmed

Jurassic World 2

Another trailer confirmed for the Super Bowl is Jurassic World 2. This feels like it has to be good. With the first trailer getting a very mixed review, which is putting it kindly, this trailer needs to delve more into the actual story and what is happening. We don’t want anymore volcano shots but make sure you don’t play all your cards. It’s tough but it’s going to be interesting to see.

Possibility – Confirmed

I’m a big fan of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson but I’m worried about this. This could be the movie that just melts together some of his movies making them all look the same. We had San Andreas and we have Rampage coming out, and now we have Skyscraper. I could be completely wrong and I hope I am but I’m hoping this looks different to his previous films. Also I’m pretty sure The Rock has cracked time travel because how does he get the time to do all of these movies!

Possibility – Confirmed

Cloverfield 3

Cloverfield 3 has been a weird one lately. Originally the movie got delayed but in recent weeks, we have learnt that it could be going straight to Netflix with a rumour that the release date will be announced at the Super Bowl. With this movie going into space, it’s going to be interesting to see the links to the ‘Cloverfield’ universe.

Possibility – Highly likely

Black Panther

We aren’t going to get another full trailer, but we will get a few more TV spots. Personally I’ve made the decision to not watch any more footage as I’ve seen enough to know, this is going to be a great film. The best thing is that we don’t know the full story, yes educated guesses could be made but I feel like I’m going into this movie, near blind, amazing.

Possibility – Confirmed

Avengers: Infinity War

It would be rude of Disney to not show something of Avengers Infinity War. We are definitely going to get something, I’d bet on that. Whether we get anything new is a different matter. At a guess, we are probably going to get a small trailer or a TV spot, not showing much else. I’ll take that.

Possibility – Very Likely

Incredibles 2

This could be the best trailer of the whole Super Bowl. There’s been rumours that we are going to get a first full trailer after the teaser we got last month, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we got nothing either. Personally I hope we do get one and animation is represented in the best possible way with Incredible 2.

Possibility – Maybe

Han Solo

There has been rumours for weeks that a trailer is on it’s way but we have got nothing. This movie is a mere 4 months away, that is crazy. If they are sticking to 25th May as a release date, they NEED to release a trailer. If there’s no trailer, this movie will 100% be a delay. I’d love it if Disney were doing a promotional blackout and seeing what happens, but I don’t think even Disney are that cocky.

Possibility – Unlikely

Ready Player One

I have very high hopes for this movie but I’m worried. I’m just not sure, unless you’re a fan of the book, that this movie is going to find the audience it needs. The past 2 trailers haven’t been amazing, so I think it needs a third and final trailer that’s going to knock the VR goggles off everyone. Fingers crossed.

Possibility – A bit likely

Super Bowl LII is set to be huge and there’s going to be some great trailers. These are just a few predictions and we will check back in next week to see how wrong I was. Plus keep an eye out for them sweet sweet commercials! Sometimes they are even better!
