Super Bowl Trailers!

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more reviews and interviews.

So the Super Bowl was last night, and I have to be honest, I couldn’t even say who was playing. It is something that I would not follow, I don’t really have any interest in it at all. However, I love the Superbowl, and  l love it for one reason, the trailers. This is the time of the year where all the major players (I guess that’s a sports joke?) show us, the audience, what they have in store. There was a lot to take in this time, from tiny snippets, to full one trailers. Here are some of ones that stood out to me, in no particular order.

Avengers: Infinity War

This was a TV spot that showed nothing, yet gave everything. Every scene from this was wall paper worthy. Iron Man’s Bleeding Edge Armour, Spider-man in space, Thor, Rocket and Groot together. Everything was great about this trailer. It shows the coming together of characters we have grown to love in the past 10 years, without giving anything away about their story or arcs. I’ll take anything Avengers related!

Mission Impossible: Fallout

This is the first trailer for the latest installment of the Mission Impossible franchise. These are movies that have just gone from strength to strength and this trailer looks to be to different. These kind of movies you can turn your brain off and enjoy and I think this movie will have that in spades. Tom Cruise fighting along side Henry Cavill (Superman!), that will be amazing to watch.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

I don’t really know how to feel about this movie. It has Chris Pratt and dinosaurs. This should be a no-brainer, but for some reason these trailers just aren’t making me interested in the movie. I don’t like the stupid screaming guy or the forced callbacks in the trailer to the original movies. I’m really hoping to be proved wrong here but I don’t have high hopes for this movie.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

This was just a teaser for the full trailer, but even for a teaser trailer this was a bit generic. It wasn’t bad, don’t get me wrong, I loved seeing all the characters and the blaster sounds really made it feel like a Star wars movie, but there just wasn’t anything to get excited about in the trailer. It has left me wanting more though so I guess it has succeeded in that. Be sure to check back with us when the full trailer is released.

I didn’t even know this movie was coming, and now I can’t wait to see it. Dwayne Johnson can do no wrong. This movie definitely will not be winning any awards but I don’t think it needs to. It’ll be fun and a real easy watch. Maybe it was just me, but I got a real “Die-Hard” feel about it while watching the trailer. I cant wait to go and see this movie.

The Cloverfield Paradox

I’m not a big follower of the Cloverfield franchise. I enjoyed the first one, but never saw 10 Cloverfield Lane. This trailer doesn’t remind of either one of them however. The trailer has intrigued me enough to see the movie, but I am glad it’s on Netflix, it doesn’t look like something I would pay to go to the cinema and see.

So that’s all the major trailers shown off during the Superbowl this year. I would say Stand out for me was definitely Infinity War, but that could just be because I’m a Marvel fanboy. Westworld also came out with a trailer, but it was something that needed a bit more than an single paragraph, which you can check out tomorrow. All in all, I would say it was a very good year for Superbowl trailers and they have made me realize, I will be at the cinema a lot this year!
