The Marvel train isn’t stopping. After a stellar weekend smashing pretty much every box office record with Infinity War, Marvel has released a new trailer for Ant-man and the Wasp. Just to make sure that we don’t get withdrawals waiting on Avengers 4.

This is the second trailer for Ant-man and the Wasp and this one gives up a lot more story than the first one. We are shown more of the main villain Ghost, as well as a bit of her powers and motivation. I like that marvel are not going down the route of “hero and villain share powers.” This has been done to death and will be a good way to show off the true skill  Ant-Man and the Wasp have.

The humour is this seems fine. I wouldn’t say it stands out as hilarious but the scene with Hank and Micheal Pena’s Character did make me chuckle a bit.  This could go down the avenue of slapstick which to me would cheapen it a bit, but I am keeping an open mind, Although a giant ant playing drums might be a step to far for me.

I really enjoyed the fact that they are leaning very heavily into the size manipulation aspect and playing off that. The introduction to Goliath is also good and I look forward to seeing what he brings to it, if anything.

Coming off the bak of Infinity War, this movie has a lot to live up to. Its smaller scale(pun intended) might ease us the audience back into a more intimate MCU. The forced the humour does have me worried that this will feel like another pointless movie, only there to fill up space before captain marvel and Avengers 4. I am staying open minded and look forward to seeing how they develop Ant-man and the Wasp.
